Who we are

RealRankly (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website realrankly.com, which publishes independent product rankings. You can reach us any time at hello@realrankly.com.

Information we collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. The information we handle falls into three categories:

• Information you give us. When you submit a ranking, post a comment, contact us, or create an account, you may provide a name or username, an email address, and the content of your message. You choose what to share.
• Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools record standard log data — your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and the pages you view. This helps us keep the site secure and understand which content is useful.
• Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences (such as saved rankings and weighting sliders) and to measure and serve advertising. See the sections below.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We use them to keep the site working (for example, remembering rankings you save), to understand aggregate traffic, and — together with third-party partners — to display advertising. RealRankly is supported by advertising. We use third-party advertising companies, including Google, to serve ads when you visit our site.

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to RealRankly and other sites on the internet.

• To respond to your messages, submissions, and corrections;
• To display and measure advertising that keeps the site free;
• To understand, in aggregate, which content is useful so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Children’s privacy

RealRankly is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
